So god-damned low.It's actually requires a lot more production than the average Twitch stream (which is usually just one annoying guy with a camera pointed at his face). You can tell in the early episodes they didn't have it figured out, because the audio quality is utter shit. They need multiple cameras, a live director, multiple mics, and everything mixed together just so.Critical Role, the juggernaut of the field, gives a lot more production and love and talent on top of the baseline requirement.If you want to give it a try, start with Season 2. It's a fresh start, a new campaign, and they've got the production aspects pinned down so hard that it seems effortless. If you're a fanatic about being spectator and nothing else, then I agree with you here.

However, you can liken this to tradesmen talking to eachother about their work, or consuming media pertaining to their work. It isn't 100% about learning and furthering your skills, but to see other scenarios you otherwise might not find yourself in, or to see things from another perspective, even if it is just for your entertainment. Now if you start hurting people because of your vicarious participation, then it's been taken too far.
