Evil

Chapter 9 begins with Sebastian waking in his office following the events of Chapter 8's closing scene. In place of the mirror you'll find an altar surrounded by lit candles. Go to the altar and investigate to find yourself in what appears to be catacombs.Once you arrive, turn around and collect any items on the floor in the corners of the room, then go through the door directly in front of the altar you started behind. When you get through the door, you'll hear a mysterious voice calling to you.

Keep moving forward all of the way straight to find a dead end room which some ammo and breakable crates, one of which contains a syringe. Head back towards the direction where you heard the voice and make the left you passed over.

Go through the green door for a simple and quick detour to find yourself in a bloody area with some gun powder next to a body and some handgun ammo down one of the tunnels. Exit this area and hang right into a large room. Explore it to find some crafting items and if you like, investigate the bodies to learn of their final fates.Continue toward the back of the room and down two sets of steps and then locate a small passage to the right at the bottom of the steps.

It's a dead end with some goodies and a Lost ready to pounce as soon as you put your paws on any of it. Easy way out of this is to collect from as far back as possible and back up quickly. If he did not notice you, just pop him a few times with the handgun. Exit out of there and then head down the hallway to find some crates to break. After that, turn to your right and go through the door and into the mausoleum. The mausoleum doesn't have much in it. For now, we won't explore it.

Instead, turn right after entering the room to find a hallway full of cells. In the cells you'll see some Lost. You can choose to kill them or not, but they will be freed later in this chapter, so if you'd like to avoid conflict, spend the ammo and take care of them now. Make your way past the cells and toward the back of the room. Take a left around the corner where you'll find a door in the back to the right. You'll see a door in the back of the room. Go through it to find a crank handle. You can either take the handle and leave the room, freeing the Lost in the cells or also go back to the hub of this area and into the bluish corridor for some more trapped Lost.

If you take the crank handle and did not kill the Lost that were in cells, they will have been freed and on your trail. In which case, sneak by or kill the Lost and search the now-open cells for some loot. Page From Submit to Freedom When you kill the Lost that's worshipping at the altar, check in the altar itself to find the page. After you grab the page, return to the main hub of the mausoleum, head to the leftish corner which looks like there is a darkish bluish open corridor behind an open barred gate. Beyond here are a few cells, one of which cotains a breakable statue with a locker key inside.

This is the cell where another Lost had been worshipping. Take him down if he is still busy, provided you did not visit here before opening the cell doors, and nab the key from the statue.Exit the cell, turn left and follow the hallway around to find a gate with a gear next to it.

As you approach the gear, two Lost playing dead may jump up and give chase. Run away from them all of the way back to the first hallway you entered once you landed in this hub area and into the room where you aquired the crank handle to lose them. If you want to have a little fun with this, return to the hub and take cover behind a piece of wall near the center of the room and pop them one shot at a time with the silenced handgun. I had to use six bullets to do them both in but it was fun watching them wonder where the rounds were coming from and helplessly running around trying to figure it out. After the fun is done, go now and examine the gear to attach the handle you picked up earlier to it. Then use it to open the gate and go through. You're now in the cellblock.

Every cell can be accessed, so make sure you explore. Start out with the first cell on your left to find some useful items. Do the same for the cell on the right as well.Next, go into the open area on the left to find a room full of crates.

Smash the crates to reveal a hole in the wall. Crouch and crawl through the hole in the wall to find a dead Mobius operative on the floor with some ammo for you. Take the ammo, then kill the turned Mobius operative blocking the door if you need the green gel, or just sneak out. Either way, you'll need to exit the way you came.Go across the hall and through the door to find another turned Mobius operative in a bed. Kill it, then crawl through the hole in the wall on your left to find a Residual Memory. View the memory, then go back the way you came. Finally, go through the door at the end of the hallway, to find a room that contains nothing but a ladder. Go down the ladder for it to crumble, blocking your exit. Continue down the hallway in front of you to be flung into another room.A brief cutscene will play before the wall opens to you, revealing your home in the distance.

Make your way toward it to trigger another short scene. After the scene ends you'll be forced to fight three flaming enemies. You can't melee or sneak kill these enemies while they're on fire, and there are few places to hide, making direct confrontation is your best choice. The enemies are liable to group up together, so use an explosive bolt or shotgun blast to damage them all simultaneously. Once you've cleared the room, an emblem will appear on the wall.

Approach it to make the wall open up, revealing the path forward. The next area has a mirror for you to return to Sebastian's Room if necessary. Use it if needed, then proceed to the next room where you'll find several plates on the floor. After entering the room look up at the two huge statues holding candles on each side of the large gated exit which is currently sealed shut tight. The one on the left from this standing point holds a smaller breakable statue as well. Shoot it down with a bullet from the handgun and collect another locker key.Climb the ladder in the room to find four wheel you can turn to rotate the plates. Rotate the wheels in this order, with the wheels numbered from left to right:. Rotate wheel 2 to the left twice.

Rotate wheel 3 to the right once. Rotate wheel 1 to the right once. Rotate wheel 4 to the left twice.Once you've solved the puzzle, the gate will raise at the back of the room, allowing entry. Head through the exit and down the hallway to trigger a cutscene and complete the chapter.
