In 'Tenchu - Stealth Assassins', the first game of the Tenchu series, you take part in a variety of missions usually involving the assassination of a certain individual.
You have a choice of two characters, each with different weapons and slight differences in story.
Besides yor main weapon, you also have a variety of tools available for you to choose from at the beginning of a mission, such as a grappling hook, shuriken, smoke bombs, etc.
If the player wants to achieve maximum score, they must attempt to employ stealth tactics by sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies and 'stealth killing' them.
